Hi,
I have experiencing a strange issue whenever I use the router as a simple network switch.
I disable the Internet connection and Bridge the WAN port to the LAN
I also change the IP address of the router to a unique IP address on the network for management purposes.
The DHCP service is also disabled as there is another device that is providing this service.
These changes when saved give me a lot of issues and I difficulty re-connecting back to the router.
I had to resort to the OpenWRT recovery mode and telnet to it:
Power up the router
Press the QSS button and hold the front after the sys led starts to flash and wait till the flashing starts to flash faster.
After the SYS led started fast flashing faster I connected my PC via Ethernet cable
- set static IP address to 192.168.1.66, subnet 255.255.255.0
- from console: telnet 192.168.1.1
then run the following command
mtd -r erase rootfs_data
This will to erase all user data and reboot the router back to default.
