Adblock plugin installed but it doesn't appear

Post by willian »

Hey, guys,

I upgraded my TL-WR1043NDv1 from 1.10.x Final to 1.12.x Final, everything ran smoothly until I install the Adblock plugin.

The Plugins tab shows that it is installed but does not appear in Connection or Firewall (I don't remember where it configures the service). I installed the logread and webshell plugins, which I normally use and both work normally.

I appreciate any help. Thanks.

From memory those routers are running out of capacity.

RAM / Flash / CPU

Add block installs fine on my C7

also i'm not sure how effective the adblock is these days?

Try reinstalling it.
You can also try manually visiting http://192.168.1.1/ablock.sh
If that works, it just means the script to add it to the menu didn't run properly

I don't believe it is a problem of space or memory, when a plugin cannot be installed a warning appears "Package Cannot Be Installed (Insufficient Disk Space)".

I tried to access the direct link but it redirects to the home page. So I uninstalled and when I tried to install again the following appeared in the log:

That looks like an out of memory (RAM, not flash) type situation.
You can try minimising the number of lists it loads by commenting out (#) the openwrt related lines in /etc/opkg.conf

e.g. from

Code: Select all

dest root /
dest ram /tmp
dest plugin_root /plugin_root

You should then reboot to clear out RAM.
If that doesn't work can you provide a more complete log please? What you gave was good, but a bit more context before/after the error often helps as well. 50-100 lines either side is usually ok.

you could also try SWAP

https://www.gargoyle-router.com/wiki/do ... sb_storage

The router is really at end of life

I commented out the lines and reboot, tried to install again and it worked!
Thank you very much, Lantis.
