Hi , first of all , thanks a lot for your great and hard work .
I have a question about installation.
I'm using 1.10 release and i like to upgrade to 1.12 , but
after installation router seems to be bricked and i have to flash it back ( via u-boot) to 1.10 release.
I notice a difference in file size 1.10 about 8mb and 1.12 is about 4mb , so his is the cause ?
Thanks for your help

Re: Installation on NeXX3020 8mb
The problem will be in the change of architecture (there are very big differences between versions 1.10 and 1.12).
I recommend going the path to the OEM firmware and then using the Gargoyle firmware with the *squashfs-factory.bin file. After uploading the firmware, you should already be able to access the Gargoyle GUI.
You may no longer use saved settings here due to major changes in network protocols!

Re: Installation on NeXX3020 8mb
Yes, so you can be sure that flashing will succeed.
*squashfs-factory.bin is used if you have an OEM and are switching to OpenWrt (Gargoyle).
*squashfs-sysupgrade.bin is used if you already have OpenWrt (Gargoyle) and are switching to OpenWrt (Gargoyle) again.
With the transition to OEM, it is only for reasons of architecture change from OpenWrt Chaos Calmer 15.05 (Gargoyle 1.10) to an improved version of OpenWrt LEDE 18.06 (Gargoyle 1.12) and there is more certainty that the router will not be bricked.
P.S. Please note that you must not use the backup from Gargoyle 1.10 for reasons, because in Gargoyle 1.12 in most cases there are big changes in the LAN interface and also in most cases it is this backup that keeps the router as brick!

Re: Installation on NeXX3020 8mb
Hi ,
Router Wt3020 flashed back to OEM firmware and than ,from the inside GUI upgraded to "gargoyle_1.12.0-ramips-mt7620-wt3020-8M-squashfs-factory.bin" and reboot : nothing good
Also erased configuration via U-Boot interface : nothing good
Recovered with the same procedure to 1.10 : successfull
Seems to me , that there is something wrong into image file.
But no problem , i will use 1.10 that works great.
Thanks
Franco

This is weird (it would be good to look over the serial cable, what's wrong) - then you can try OpenWrt directly (18.06 or 19.07) to see if the boot succeeds.
You can also try the beta version of Gargoyle 1.13: viewtopic.php?p=59315#p59315
I read somewhere that the "F" version (wt3020F) has a problem with the new firmware and users only have to settle for the older firmware. It probably won't be that easy with this model ... I'm sorry I didn't help you much .

Hi ,
First of all thanks
tested with 1.13 and router reboot and works well , but
unfortunally is without any Usb support for printers or storage device.

If you have space in the flash memory, you can expand the USB services by installing the plugin - or you can use the so-called extroot.Franco wrote: unfortunally is without any Usb support for printers or storage device.
Installing plugins is in my post or you can install it manually.
